Iowa Youth Harvests Whitetail Deer
Briar and his whitetail buck
Seven-year-old Briar harvested this handsome Whitetail buck on opening evening of Iowa's 2008 youth season. Along with his dad and eight-year-old brother Gauge, Briar hunted from a ground blind to take his first deer.
With help from knowledgeable Knight Rifles representatives on how to load and charge Briar's Knight Rifle, Briar's dad says his young sons were able to join in deer hunting at an early age than he was ever able to participate. "Briar's buck gross scored 139 6/8," said his dad. "Not bad for his first two hours in a deer blind!"
Young whiletail hunters like Briar gain valuable lessons in patience while their skills are put to the test. Briar, his brother Gauge, and his dad proved that armed with a trusty gun and plenty of guidance, even young hunters can bag the biggest buck.
