Fred's Oklahoma Whitetail Deer

Fred and his trophy whitetail deer

Fred's Whitetail deer taken with a Knight Muzzleloader

On a whitetail deer hunt in Guthrie, Oklahoma on the final day of October, Fred harvested a monster buck with his .50 caliber Knight muzzleloader rifle. The Knight MK-85 in-line muzzleloader proved a reliable gun for the hunt.

"This is the only muzzleloader I've ever owned," Fred said. "It definitely helped me take down the buck of a lifetime." Fred's "sooner" whitetail deer makes the Boon and Crocket trophy book with antlers that score a Gross of 180 7/8, and a Net of 166 1/8.

On familiar Oklahoma terrain, Fred patiently waited for the right window and then hit the mark when he was sure of his target. This patience and determination was all he needed for a successful whitetail deer hunt.
