Pennsylvania Deer Hunter Takes Monster Buck

Dave took down his monster buck during the second week of Pennsylvania Rifle Season. "I hunt almost every day through deer season, and I had passed on several bucks," remembered Dave. So when this trophy deer came into sight, Dave knew to seize his opportunity.

After he laid eyes on his buck, Dave stalked it for two hours. The deer was trying to slip into heavy cover when Dave made his move. "I was able to stop him with a mouth bleat and after I took him down, he only ran a short distance," Dave said. Experienced hunters like Dave rely on their equipment, but they also know payoff from a successful buck bleat can be huge.

Dave harvested his buck at 70 yards using his Knight Extreme Disk .50 caliber rifle loaded with 250 grain Barnes expander. The trophy buck registered 22 points, and scored 173 7/8 net, non typical.
